World Cup Asia @ Bukit Jalil
Above is a video grab from the tournament held at Bukit Jalil from 14 Nov-16 Nov, the World Cup Asia Paintball Championship....or something like that (never good at memorising long names :)
Pardon the video quality.....hot like mad at 1pm, bathing in sweat in my working clothes, one hand taking video with handphone and one hand wiping sweat.
When I went this afternoon, the biggest stall would be the dye/proto stall, where they have the widest range of gears....the rest are a bit limited. most stalls are manned by foreigners....heck, at the proto stalls, the items for sale are denominated in US dollars, with a rough approximation to Ringgit next to it!
Although i promised Henry to wait for him, my fingers (and wallet!) got itchy and spent about 120....buying t-shirts (they have my fav size mah...XXL...3 for US25)and a very nice cap. The cap was only 5 bucks....that is, hehehe....RM20 lor. Still a good bargain coz the material is very nice and sturdy....even better than those nike, adidas caps that rip you off at RM50 at least.
Ok, now the most anticipated part....the price list. Here goes (denominated is RM for your sake :-D
Jerseys - from 180
Pants - from 200 (looks very nice at a very good bargain, gonna buy :)
Gloves (ducky's wish list)- saw a pair going for 30
Harness (to hold pods) - average about 250 and above, but saw one at the spyder shop selling for RM90!
Pods - RM10. There's nicer ones going for RM100 for a set of 6. Big difference in style and design.
Markers - cheapest RM1,100....saw one going for 1,700, very nice. (drool,drool)
Pellets - saw none at stall. they are selling it for the tournament players at the counter....so, basically, hiked up prices la @ 235.
Caps,Beanies - RM20 (cheap!)
Knee/Elbow pad - RM190 onwards
Goggle - various shapes and sizes....Entry level goggle rm110. from 110 - 399.
Chest protector (something like a sleeveless shirt, with paddings on chest, back and sides) - RM190
Entrance fee - RM5
Parking fee - RM2
Opening time - 9 to 6 pm
Will be going back tomorrow with henry in the afternoon. Think will go for the pants and chest protector, hehehe.

but jersey no need la....not nice also and not much protection. will buy the protection vest though, beat having to wear the tiny chest protector given by those paintball centres. can wear for futsal also :)

if u want, u can just stuff the pod into the back of your pants lor...at most you need is just one pod coz our game is not that long.
REMEMBER....always stuff the pod at the BACK of your pants. if you stuff in front, might give the wrong idea +)

Busy with work and also celebrate my anniversary la.
I got my Dye gloves already. RM50 ones (if not mistaken retailed at RM180), from the box on the floor. those RM30s do not cover fingers. I got 80% shots on my fingers the other day. Damn pain man.
Most of the things are not cheap unless you're looking for pants, caps, jerseys. I had a good look at the protection vest (RM190) from Dye... not too impress. But i think the pants are very worth buying at RM200.
Masks/Goggles are not cheap neither. Our mask, Enforcers, are not available. Most of the mask are new models except for the Dye I3 ~ Gilbert bought his at RM340. But the I3 is damn comfortable. 10 times better than my Enforcer. There are no old stocks from other shops.
wah, gilbert so willing to spend ah. i tot RM210 anti-fog mask is good enuf. now his RM340.

hhmm..to your earlier question, i think daniel ng used it before. it'll lead to klia for sure but i don't know where is the turnoff/exit. it should be able to cut your travelling time by half.
i took the lcct bus from kl sentral to lcct. it used the new klia/putrajaya highway and to my disbelief, we managed to reach lcct in about 30 mins only!
and the bus wasn't even speeding.
so, if you're driving, then should even be faster lo.
might be test driving there today, see mood la....coz next week have to drive there in the buta-buta pagi (5am) to send my missus to airport.

yesterday heard the guy from penang talked about the different type of markers....saw henry's fingers itchy-itchy, mine also :P
but that would only happen if we have a team la....if not, the marker will end up like my bb gun, chucked aside and used occasionally to kacau my dogs :P

I've tried the I3 mask - Gilbert's. Damn syiok man.. i also itchy abt it, but then... modding slowly la.
Btw, i've checked, you can purchase the anti-f0g spray from any specs shop. But if your sponge gets wet, still fogs up. So, long term use, buy the thermal lenses.
If paintball master is selling for RM150, then its really a bargain buy. Those goggles selling for RM110-150 yesterday aren't even using thermal lense.
I4 looks more garang ~ shawn's wish list. Selling at RM400. Didn't try it though.
The harness u guys bought is really a bargain buy man! missed that one out... darn.
for those new to this ganas yet safe sport and if you intend to play as often as possible, do aim for the facemask or goggle to buy first. the rest are just bonus to get. don't have to be expensive but good to have anti-fogging lenses.
where? if normal shops in MY usually they mark up, best to go during tournaments, cheaper and imported some more.

I've just checked out Isi Rimba. Dang, halfway through, it poured like mad.
OK, they look better than the field that we played on in Bukit Jalil. We can utilise all 3 courts.
1. Speed ball - using inflatables, and its not on grass. They've carpeted the ground with mats.
2. Recball - Almost similar to the one we played in Bukit Jalil. But it's much tidier (no, u cant shoot through the holes). Both the court size more or less same like Xtionpaintball.
3. Woodball - Jungle setting. Didn't get to see it since it was raining mad. Sounds interesting in the scenarios that they set for it.
We can utilise all 3 of the courts as long as we have enough pallets to shoot.
The mask that they provide are similar to xtionpaintball's. Btw, they also sell mask there. In case anyone wants to buy. JT (enforcer is available) and DYE (i3 - gold colour with cap).
The place is booked for us for the whole day. But if start to play in the afternoon, then rain can be a problem. Btw, this place allows you to play in the rain :P Paintball master, apa macam?

i3 vs i4, of course i4 better la. If not why produce an improvement? Look wise, i4 looks a lot more better. Btw, Proto and DYE masks are meant specially for speedball. JT masks are more for Woodball. However, JTs have more parts that can be changed ~ easier maintenance.
But if you really wanna change your Nforcer mask, then go for the i3 la. cheaper by 60 bucks, so u can use it to buy a pair of glove :P

Paintballgilla, they selling the i3 quite ex la. RM400+ (didn't enquire exact price, cos wasn't interested. However say price can nego). That day they were selling i4 at RM400 only.
after hearing ducky's comment about dyei3, hati damned gerak wanted to buy liao....i actually went back to the place on sunday afternoon with missus :P
no many ppl liao....only thing cheaper are the gloves now going for 40, the rest no change.

i4 has a wider lense... in a way see more thing too. But since they make it lighter, Admin said neck protection not so good. Btw, there is soemthing call a neck protector though.
Btw, the i3 Gilbert bought was without the cap.
With Cap - more surface to shoot at.
Without Cap - less surface, but rain means you see lesser too.
SAw the Dye I4 , seem didn't really cover the forehead pretty well , could get shot there and your forehead will have a lump there (people start asking why u have a round bruise over the head )hahaha

seems you have to wear something extra for forehead.
DyeI3 was the last stock which i bought it for RM250.
the cap is optional but included in the nice imported box. even the cloth to wipe the lenses also darn nice. sayang to use man.
anyway, point to note, only use the clean cloth to wipe off dirt or stain. but do not use it sewenang wenangnye coz it's sensitive, imagine got one unseen protective layer which is the anti fogging filamen. the more you wipe, the shorted the anti fogging lifespan.
btw, just wash off with water will do, clean and ready for next game already.
beanie will help cover. but under our kinda weather, you'll rather get shot at than to be suffering from that heat. lol
just get the i3 la. Shawn is the most gungho for i4, and i sure hope he's reading this before purchasing one.
Got a lil' advice from Isi Rimba's ppl today abt buying stuffs in tourneys. You can buy anything,except for markers. If there are any problem with them after the tourney (should you buy from overseas retailers), you'll have problem servicing them. It'll be a hassle to track down the authorised dealers for repairs. plus, they may not be so happy to service you too, cos you bought it direct. talk abt quality of service eh?
Should you buy from shops here whom are also authorised dealers, then just return and let them settle it for u.
Dye i3 has got pro version and inversion version . Which one did gil get , ducky ?

unfortunately, he has got prior plan on 6 dec...so told him that he would have to wait until january lor, most probably.

ducky , u might wanto check out the Xtion Paintball forum (register first) , there got 1 section on selling new & 2nd hand stuff ...pretty cool if i know how to purchase ..they even got sell new DYe I4 new goggles at 380 and dye 13 at 350$ . 2nd hand nice looking harnesses at 90$ . U should check it out . Actully can get a good buy

woodsball markers are different from speedball markers la. Speedball markers can be used for both.

btw, got another bad review on Isi Rimba from a diff friend. Well, won't know until we've tried all different places la.
Here's the trick on playing cheaper, but higher initial investment. Get you own marker and goggles. Other stuffs can wait.
With marker and goggles, you only pay for field rental (around RM5 per person) and paintballs (RM40-50).
Second hand markers (semi-auto) can be bought for RM700-800 for a full set. Inclusive of the hopper, neck and gas cylinder. They are a good buys for beginners as you can get higher end markers with lower investment instead of spending everything in a brand new entry level marker ~ not unless you really wanna splash cash into the sport though. Its ok if the marker has scratches,normal, cos you crawl, jump, etc with it. Just have to know who is the user and if the marker is frequently cleaned (just like police/army take out parts to clean their firearm) and serviced.
Woodsball poison from my friend: the game is all about scenarios. Not enter the court tembak-tembak strategy, finish. Can have 'real' wargames if you're into those army stuffs. Should try before deciding on playing speedball or woodsball.

markers for 700-800? sounds too cheap to be true...have to see to believe. must bring 'expert' along also to check the gun's condition...just like bringing mechanic friends to check second hand car :P

u can actually buy new markers very cheap if u 'ada jalan'... cos if u get from shops here, they mark up kao kao since the sport is not that popular here.
Get in touch with those paintball sifus, then they can point you the right way to bring the marker in without even getting taxed and of course no middle man mark up. thats why must get to know those paintball sifus...

btw, 2nd hand markers price range differs from each individual because u can modify your marker!! haha.. more poison to come after buying your own marker.
like buying a 2nd hand BMW, better get one that the previous owner has already mod kao kao (Ori M3 bodykit, M3/AC/Hammann rims, etc), cos parts are very very expensive :P Selling price may be slightly higher than stock, but for the things you get included in it.. very well worth the price.

hey... let's get those pellets instead... so much cheaper but if you play in paintball centres, they may ask you to buy theirs first before using your own else they tak boleh cari makan like this. most centres make money from pellets alone. may need to clarify with centres on bringing own pellets.
verat, the surcharge for using our own pallets is RM80 per box. Thats how much they make per box if we take from Isi Rimba.
It'll add up to RM220 per box in total if we get the RM140 from this guy. (save RM60 if we use up 4000 pallets).
The website doesn't show that he's got any shop at all. Someone will have to call and make arrangement to meet and pay him.

I've checked with "Pot" ~ his name, if we take more than 5 box of Diablo Heat (price: RM140), he can give us at RM130 per box. Diablo Heat is used by many paintball centres.
DXS Rec Sport is tournament grade, i don't think we need that since we are all using rented markers anyway.

i've just enabled it. there's pros and cons between blogging and forum. blogging you can write your thesis or long story with videos in it plus can comment on it.
for forum, it has short attention span which can cause uncertainty when it gets real long. maybe we can balance both worlds. i'm in the midst of setting up blog.feva.asia so that Kev or whoever can do write up on events with pictures, videos. we can choose to comment it on the blog itself or just put blog link in forum to discuss panjang lebar.

compared that to risk the pellets rosak due to heat, humid, wrong storage area....not worth it :)
